Fairways Hotel site Haggardstown Dublin Road/Old Golf Links Road
The development for Planning Permission will consist of a supermarket incorporating an off-licence (1,640m² gross floor area), five retail/ service units (total gross floor area 690m²) and a creche (206m²) and associated car parking, signage (67.5m²), service areas, landscaping, boundary treatment and site development works at the Fairways Hotel. The development for Planning Permission will also consist of the reconfiguration and modernisation of the Fairways Hotel including new foyer/ reception area and restaurant (446m²) and part demolition (4,840m²) of the Fairways Hotel complex of hotel buildings. Vehicular access to the proposed development is via the existing entrance (to be upgraded) to the Fairways Hotel off the Dublin Road (R132). The development consists of Retention Permission for an unauthorised access/egress to the Fairways Hotel from Old Golf Links Road, Haggardstown, Dundalk Co. Louth, to serve as a service access for the proposed development. A Master Plan pertaining to an area extending to 12.39 hectares (zoned Retail, Leisure, Recreation and Community) and incorporating the application site accompanies the application. **Significant Further Information submitted on 12/04/11 amended the description as follows: Omission of 3 no. of the original 5 no. retail service units (2 no. retail service units with a gross floor area 338sqm are retained) the 3 no. retail service units to be omitted are replaced by a bingo hall (Class 11 use) (total gross floor area 368 sqm) the omission of the unauthorised access/egress from the Old Golf Links Road and its replacement with a landscaped pedestrian/cycle link only; provision for a new pedestrian link to adjoining 'Stamanaran' residential development to the east; and the repositioning of existing pedestrian link to Felda.
