Development Description: With a life of ten years to construct and operate a new Research and Development and Formulation facility at its existing plant The proposed development to be located north of the existing plant comprises a new Research and Development and formulation Building (14360 m sq Approx) up to three storeys in height including offices, laboratories, locker rooms, formulation (tabletting) clean room areas, plantrooms, a substation, warehousing, loading docks and other ancillary functional areas, an external storage area ,a single-storey extension to the northern side of the existing Chiller Building (176 m sq approx) two cooling towers on the southwest side of the existing Chiller Building, an extension to the existing piperack from the north western corner of the site to the Research and Development and Formulation Building, a new car park with space for 92 cars, extension to the existing sitewide roads, footpaths, underground and aboveground sitewide drainage and water supply services and utilities systems, a firewater retention pond, realignment of the existing and provision of a new site security fence and adjacent road serving the construction car park, modification to the existing and provision of additional landscaping and all associated on-site infrastructure required to serve the proposed development. The proposed development relates to the extension of an industrial facility to which the Major Accident Directive applies, the application relates to a development which comprises or is for the purpose of an activity requiring an integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) licence.
