Permission for development which will consist of: Partial demolition and alteration of the existing mortuary facility and existing Pathology laboratory building. The area to be demolished is a former viewing area and no longer in use for that purpose; Associated site works which include reconfiguration of the internal hospital road and services; New entrance to the mortuary; Construction on the site of a new two storey Hospital Laboratory building with rooftop plant enclosures and small single-storey extension to the mortuary. The proposed building will accommodate the Blood and Tissue Establishment in a purpose-built infrastructure which operates within the defined acceptance criteria of the EU Directives. The development will also provide accommodation on one of the floors for the configuration of an integrated Medical Laboratory service
