Merlin Park University Hospital Old Dublin Road Merlin Park Lane
Planning permission is sought for the development of lands (c. 1.8HA) within the grounds of Merlin Park University Hospital. The Proposed development will comprise of a two storey, part single storey Community Nursing Unit/ residential care unit (c. 5,100sqm total Gross Floor Area (GFA)). The building comprises of 60 en-suite bedrooms, including a 10 bed dementia unit in the single storey block, with associated resident accommodation including dining rooms, residents areas, visitors room and family overnight room, treatment rooms, hairdresser's salon etc.; Internal courtyard and balcony spaces, back of house areas, staff accommodation and ancillary offices, demolition of existing buildings on site including a carpenter's workshop (280sqm GFA), storerooms (95sqm GFA) and vacant former nurses accommodation building (67sqm GFA) (total area of demolition 442sqm GFA) and construction of replacement carpenters workshop (286sqm GFA) and 4 no. storerooms (Total GFA of 103.5sqm). Permission is also sought for associated landscaping, services yard including waste marshalling area (49sqm) and ESB substation (15sqm), and all associated site and development works, including connection to existing water supply on Merlin Park Lane. The total GFA of the overall development is 5,553.5sqm GFA.
Permission is sought for the development which will consist of revisions to granted planning permission Ref 18/423 to construct a new Theatre building (620m2) and link and stores (139m2), roof top plant space (383m2), including construction of a service road, gas compound and boiler room (61m2) and all associated site works and services (total area 1203m2)
Permission for development which will consist of: 1. A 30m2 single storey extension on the North-Eastern side of the Adolescent Unit, consisting of a meeting room, together with associated internal changes. 2. A 56m2 single storey extension on the North-Western side of the Adolescent Unit, consisting of two additional single bedrooms. 3.
